We at Ithaca Crew are interested in sharing information about our April 29th open house
with your junior athletes. Your community sends several students to Ithaca College each year, and we see your program as a strong pool of prospects for our team. We are a stable, well supported Division III program offering Men’s & Women’s Crew and Women’s Sculling.
As a non-scholarship program, we are able to offer competitive opportunities to a wider range of athletes (both in size and erg score) than a DI program might. We get pretty excited to see incoming 2k scores below 7:50 (women) and 6:50 (men), but are happy to work with any athlete who shares our love of work, improvement, and competition.
Founded as a music conservatory, the college has grown to excel in Health Science, Communications, Music, Theatre, Business and other liberal arts programs. The full range of offered majors can be explored here. Ithaca College supports the student-athlete ideal, and is a great compromise for athletes who care deeply about academics, but crave focused training and competitive race experiences. Ithaca crews are regulars among the medals at NY State Championships, grand finals at NIRC, and teams selected for NCAA Championships.
Please consider forwarding this email to your junior class. If students’ training and race schedules conflict with the April 29th Open House, they are welcome to arrange alternate dates for a campus visit. By completing a recruit questionnaire, a prospect can alert the coaches of their interest & receive updates about our season and other campus events.
Thanks much for your time. We hope you enjoy flat water and fast racing this spring.
