The FALL 2010 PARENT MEETING / REGISTRATION will be held on FRIDAY, Sept 10th at 7PM in the Boathouse Regatta Room.

No previous experience or boating knowledge is required to be a successful rower; it just takes effort, commitment and a lot of fun. The first year rowing is all about learning and participation.

* Practice is held at The Community Boathouse located at 270 North Water St., Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.

Each season Arlington Crew puts in one order for “team” clothing; which includes the option to buy sweatshirts, t-shirts, duffle bags, sweat pants, etc with our team name and/or logo.

Crew Clothing Orders Forms have been distributed to the rowers after their practices. The forms are currently available at the Boathouse and from our website’s FORMS page. There will also be forms available at the Parent Meeting on Sept 10th.

Orders with payment are due by September 12th. Checks are to be made payable to ARLINGTON ROWING ASSOCIATION.

Notes:

• The only required clothing to be purchased by a rower is our Arlington Crew “uniform” which consists of a unisuit and a banana shirt. The orders for these items will be taken separately by Mrs. Bodley, and rowers will be measured to ensure proper fit.
• The orders for the Arlington Crew Boathouse GORE-TEX® Rain Jacket will also be taken separately. This rain jacket is not required

• Arlington Crew’s Fall 2010 season begins for current team members on Saturday, August 28th from 7am to 9am at the Boathouse. Rowers will re-rig and set up for the Fall season (work out / out on the water if time and weather permits). A second practice will be held on Sunday, August 29th from 7am to 9am.. Check the Arlington Crew Website and calendar for dates and times of future practices.

• THE ARA BOARD welcomes back all ARLINGTON CREW PARENTS. Please stay during the first practice for coffee and reconnect with your fellow crew parents.

• Arlington students interested in joining Arlington Crew and their parents, are invited to come to the Boathouse to the first practice ( Sat., Aug 28, 7am to 9am) for “Coffee and Conversation”. Members of the Arlington Rowing Association Board will be at the practice to give you an introduction to the team and the sport of crew. Learn what it means to be a Novice. Check the Arlington Crew Website and calendar for dates and times of future Novice practices.
